Oakley sunglasses - where it began
Oakley is an American company founded in 1975 and is today one of the world's largest manufacturers of sunglasses in the sports segment. The story of Oakley began in Alhambra, California, where a 25-year-old James "Jim" Jannard dropped out of school and decided to explore the United States on a motorcycle. When the dust settled, he started the company Oakley and began selling various products for motorcycles, including handles in a new and grip-friendly material. The company, which was named Oakley after his dog, developed and after a while he found his niche in goggles and goggles for motocross. From here, the step to making ski goggles was only natural.
This is where Oakley's success story could have ended, if it were not for a sunny drive between San Diego and Los Angeles.
