At SmartBuyGlasses, we value representation and inclusivity over everything. After all, we’re an international company! Without diversity and awareness of cultures all around the world, we wouldn’t be where we are today: one of the world’s largest and most trusted online eyewear retailers. We celebrate our differences, and Pride Month is as good a time as any to acknowledge our solidarity with the LGBT+ community all around the globe. Pride Month (June) is just around the corner, so we thought we’d have some fun and show off our 8 favourite pride sunglasses and pride glasses – one for each color on the original Pride flag!
When Is Pride Month 2021?
Pride month is an annual celebration in June. There’s also a Pride Day! As a sub-holiday during Pride Month, Pride Day is celebrated on June 28. The day marks the date in history when the first Pride march was held in New York City in 1970. However, different communities around the world celebrate Pride Day on different days throughout June.
What Is Pride Month?
LGBT Pride Month occurs in the United States to commemorate the Stonewall riots – a series of spontaneous demonstrations against a police department seeking to uphold outdated and discriminatory laws – which occurred at the end of June 1969. These demonstrations sparked the gay liberation movement in the USA. As a result, many pride events are held during this month to recognize the impact members of the LGBT+ community have made in the world.
