Summer is the ideal season for branching out and trying new colors and looks. It is a creative season, where people are more prone to wear flamboyant looks and more likely to applaud new ideas and new designs. If you want to try new things, summer is the right season, but there are still color palate ideas that are solid in summer. For example, you see many people wearing brighter Dior sunglasses in summer than they would ever wear in winter or fall.

White is one of the best colors for summer. It doesn’t attract heat, and it brings a touch of air to any outfit. Even dark clothing is lightened up when paired with white sunglasses, and although men need to be careful with white shades lest they look like they are trying to be a pimp, women can pull of the look with ease.

Avoid bold colors like red, black, green and blue and opt for pastels or variations on these colors for summer. Keep in mind that winter is when the jewel tones come out so you don’t want to use those hues yet. Your best bet for summer is to think of nature and copy it, lighter colors, more light and less darkness, depth and shadow.

In terms of sunglasses that are perfect for summer, think of girly and fragile designs by Dior for great intricate looks that add a lot to any outfit. You can also go with Prada (which has always been more of a fall-winter designer) but make sure you go after a pair of sunglasses that are not black.

For many looks, it’s the sunglasses that complete the picture and give your wardrobe that perfect cool vibe that it would otherwise lack. Thick of Tom Cruise without sunglasses—I bet you can’t do it! Think of the Terminator without his Police like sunglasses—impossible. That’s how important sunglasses are to a complete look.

For women, sunglasses are the make or break item that tells the most about your wardrobe. You’ll either have awesome sunglasses that make you look like a rocks tar, or you’ll have nothing which is the worst wardrobe mistake to make in the modern age of fashion. Literally any wardrobe of merit needs to have something for your most important body part- your eyes. This is how you see the world, and this is how the world first sees you—by looking in your eyes. Only a noob would let this detail leave their mind for even a fashion moment.

Keeping it real and lively isn’t always easy when it comes to eyewear. You need to have a backup pair that are always fashionable, like a solid Tom Ford pair of sunglasses you keep for emergencies. But, each look is unique and you’ll need to find a pair of sunglasses to fit each outfit. This doesn’t mean you need 100 pairs of sunnies. It means you need to have a few versatile pairs that you can wear with anything. Like a solid dress up (black) pair, a rockers set (like the ones in the image) and a casual or sporty pair, like anything by Bolle.

Summer is here! Thank god summer is finally here! And with summer comes all the amazing summer clothing, hot and sexy summer sunglasses like MiuMiu and Dior, and summer skirts! Summer is the best season for fashion, and people get to show off their natural beauty more readily than in winter and the in-between seasons.

First, you’ll want to center your look around your eyewear. If you can find a look you love your entire wardrobe will come together behind it. For example, if you love Dior sunglasses then it means you are more of a pastel, adorable, cute kind of girl that likes intricate things, adores beauty and has a real eye for charming pieces. Your entire look will revolve around these kinds of ideas and concepts. If you are a Prada fan you are sophisticated, darker in terms of color palate for clothing, and a bit more apt to be living in a city or in a higher profile position than your average Ray Ban fan. Sunglasses say a lot about a person, what do yours say about you?

For summer, things always tend to be lighter, airier, brighter and more full of color. Keep this in mind when sunglasses shopping. You’ll want a pair that you can wear out in the evening before the sun has set that won’t look too cheesy as well as a pair that you can wear to the grocery store while still in your sweatpants. Be logical when choosing your sunglasses and make sure they fit your lifestyle and not the person you think you want to be.

Finding the perfect power shades for a powerful man is no easy feat. But, its important to keep up the chase until you find the perfect pair. From Serengeti to Carrera, the sunglasses can make or break a man’s look.

First, you’ll want to figure out what kind of suit-wearing man you are. Are you the ultra professional, in fitted bespoke suits or do you wear J.C Penny suits off the sales rack? If you wear fitted suits, you’ll need high-end, designer sunglasses to complete the look. We’re talking driver’s sunglasses that make the look a tad more casual and yet tie it all together with one unified color like silver, gold or brown.

If you wear a cheaper suit or don’t care about your look as much, then scale it back a bit in terms of sunglasses and try something like a Carrera look—this is casual and yet clearly designer sunglasses so your whole look will get power points with designer shades. Carrera shades are sleek, sexy and manly and will make the whole suit look sharper.

For the casual man, the sports man or outdoorsman you’ll want to get a laid back look that is sporty and fresh without looking too corporate. The best way to go is with less well known brands that are still highly valued and designer but less highbrow than your Armani or Dior for men. We’re talking Alexander McQueen or traditional looks like Ray Ban or Oakley. Any of these options would be perfect for the laid back gentleman.

We’ve all been to an indoor party where there was one man (usually a man, but not always) who keeps his sunglasses on indoors. This is hugely annoying to me, as sunglasses are a tool to protect your eyes from sunlight. Since there is no sunlight indoors, it make the person wearing shades inside look like a fool. Perhaps I’m being too functional about sunglasses. Many folks wear designer shades like Prada, Dior and Gucci to make themselves look more fashionable and cool. They spend a lot of money making themselves look so fashionable that they can’t exactly distinguish between an indoor and outdoor look.

I’ve always thought there were a few other possibilities as to why someone would wear sunnies indoors:

1. They are a vampire and light hurts their eyes.
2. They are trying to look ‘detached’ and cool.
3. They don’t know they are inside.
4. They don’t know what sunglasses are for.
5. They have no personality and are trying to hide it.
6. They are trying to intimidate someone.
7. They have a hangover.
8. They are missing an eye.
9. They used to be a pirate but are trying to look modern.
10. They have an ugly face.
11. Trying to look like Tom Cruise.
12. They are too cool to obey the rules.
13. It is an indoor beach party.
14. They are blind.
15. They have dementia.
16. They are Kanye West.
17. They are on stage and the lights are too bright
18. They look disproportional without sunglasses on.
19. They are a valley girl.
20. They recently had plastic surgery on the face.

Texting on the cell while driving has been banned. Earplugs while driving has been banned. Soon they may band eating while behind the wheel. With all of these precautions, should sunglasses be required driving equipment? High-end designer driving glasses like those by Serengeti do enhance performance, increase contrast and protect your eyes from UV damage and sudden light changes that decrease reaction time. There is a real argument to the increased safety of wearing sunglasses behind the wheel, but should it be made official?

These sexy men’s Serengeti sunglasses not only look good, but they are designed with driving in mind. They are incredibly attractive, and give the man a focused and determined, serious driving look. If a law were to be enacted to require sunglasses, its not as dorky or intrusive as wearing a helmet or knee pads, and in fact it ups your cool points rather than diminishes them.

One of the key problems with a law like this is the cost to drivers. Sunglasses that are done well, benefit your eyes and enhance driving performance are not cheap. Sure, there are knock-offs on the market but they don’t do the same magic as the high-end stuff. So, making this legal could put a financial strain on lower income drivers.

Finally, although it seems like a law that would be intended to protect drivers and increase road safety it would be very hard to enforce. The money the government would spend enforcing it may outweigh the benefits. Meanwhile, the government is already too busy trying to crack down on the ‘Click it or Ticket’ campaign.

What are your thoughts?

With the wild success of the TV shows: Big Love and Sister Wives, the Mormon religion’s fundamentalists groups have been in the forefront of American culture yet again. Only this time, we’re seeing inside the religion in a way that Hollywood created, giving us a unique view that isn’t all together an honest portrayal of all polygamists, but still an interesting and riveting drama. And as a result of this new highlighting, we’re finding bits and pieces of their culture and fashion infiltrating American fashion. Versace, for example, has recently released a line of clothing that is neck to ankle, and the sleeves cover the entire arms.

Madonna (image) looks extremely well covered considering she was once the premiere sex symbol in the country. You’ll also find bits and pieces of the look in everyday fashion over the last few years in the form of the hairstyle, the wispy top-head bun, and the tightness of the sleeves around the wrist, which has become a staple in high-end fashion in recent years.

Whatever your opinions about the groups, their fashion is an interesting blend of femininity, charm and a throwback to a simpler time. The clothing are durable, high on utility and easy on the eyes, a great combination for any woman. This is an area the Mormons have in common with the Amish, whose clothing can also stand the test of time. Prada, who have since become a major designer brand, set out originally to make a high-end product that was durable and could withstand daily wear and tear, like the Amish clothing.

Eyestrain is cause by several factors, though if you suffer from constant ongoing eyestrain and pain you have probably already analyzed your life and found the causes. If not, this should be enlightening.

First, if you wear contacted lenses, even moisture adding designer brands like those by Proclear you may find that your eyes feel more itchy and strained than without the contact lenses. Consider wearing eyeglasses instead of contacts during the day and see if your eyestrain decreases.

Second, if your eyes are strained because you spend all day every day staring at a computer screen, consider buying a muting device to hang over your screen to decrease the harsh light. You should also arrange your computer so that the top of your eyes is level with the top of the screen, so you are not holding your eyes in an awkward angle all day. Third, look away from the screen every few moments, even just a quick sidelong glance will help give your eyes a brief respite from the screen. You can also do short exercises for your eyes every few hours to keep them in tip top shape. All of this should decrease eyestrain caused from long exposure to computers.

Finally, consider consuming a few foods to help your vision. For example, carrots help your night vision, green vegetables give your body the healthy vitamins it needs to allocate resources to the eyes. Starches carry the vitamins around your body. Avoiding highly fatty and sugar filled foods will help your whole body, but you should also notice increases in your eye’s health with a better diet.

This spring, expect bright colors, bold shapes and a throwback 1980s fashion sense complete with side ponytail and colorful tights. Fendi, seen in the picture here, produced these shades that virtually epitomize the 2011 spring fashion look.

Looking at the color wheel, expect to see diametrically opposed colors, like the traditional yellow and blue mix, and slight oppositions, like the red and purple in the Fendi shades. You can also expect to see colors tat don’t necessarily match or contradict, like reds, oranges and pinks in one outfit or a single piece. In the realm of eyewear, this is best expressed in the tinting of the lenses, where you can expect to see more gradient shading, and more blending, as with the Fendi shades where the tint seems to almost be streaming downward from the red bars above the eyebrows. Notice, also, the pink lipstick with red shirt and red tones on the glasses and orange tinting, here we see so many examples of 2011 spring fashion it’s a prime example of whats to come on the ready-to-wear racks near you.

To get the look, start wearing brighter colors and more primary colors. Think back to your wardrobe in 1980, but add a futuristic element in terms of layering and design. The color palate should stay bold and loud while the designs remain simple so as not to overload the senses. Other brands that rock this look are Alexander McQueen, D&G and Juicy Couture. Though you could also run up to the attic and rummage around in your old gear. You’ll be totally in fashion with items from the ‘80s.

If you have a heart-shaped face finding the perfect pair of sunglasses isn’t going to be as easy as picking up the latest Hollywood fashion fad and looking amazing. No, you’ll have to do a bit of research and seriously analyze what works for your face. You can’t for example, wear tiny or thin sunglasses like the thin designs by Gucci. Instead, you should stick to sunglasses of more substance and width, like Prada’s thick frames in the Jackie-O style.

Celebrities that have your face shape, like the Olson Twins, Mary Kate and Ashley, do best by highlighting the largeness of their eyes, this gives an almost nymph-like look, or, an anime appearance as some have termed it. To get the look, simply buy oversized designer sunglasses and wear your hair in such a fashion to accentuate the pointed aspect of your chin and the delicate widow’s peak on your forehead, which can both be very appealing and beautiful traits.

In the image here, the twins are trying their best to make themselves look more adult by parting their hair in the middle. This isn’t the best look for a heart-shaped face. Instead, pulling the hair back adds to the heart shape and the nymph look. The large sunglasses are perfect for them, but the one on the right (sorry they really do look identical) looks a bit like a clown it the dual-colored lenses.
