When buying designer eyewear, like Prada or Oakley shades, online, you’ll want to consider two things before making any purchase: 1) is the company reputable, and; 2) is the eyewear authentic. Here is a bit of
information on how to judge your online eyewear provider.
Look for a testimonials or happy customer’s page on the seller’s website. This kind of chatter can really help ease a new buyer’s mind, because it means previous buyers were so happy they went out of their way to thank the company.
Look for a guarantee on all sales. If anything happens to your eyewear, you want a company that stands behind the products they sell. Buying online is easy, quick and painless, and getting your merchandise in the mail couldn’t be more worry-free. For a bit of added peace-of-mind, the guarantee can go a long way.
Look for breadth of options on the site. Some sites will offer a few products at a discount rate, be wary of such sites because they often don’t last, which means if you have a problem down the road your company may no longer be around to help you out. With a large array of items, a company is more likely to stay in business, and be there for you. Look for a range of products as well, like sunglasses, eyeglasses and contacts.
Look for deals. Reputable and respected companies like to give people a chance to get in on a great deal. Look for products on sale, clearance or special deals associated with the company.

Christmas is nay but a few days away, and with last minute shopping galore here are a few tips on what to stuff in that loved one’s stocking this year that will make it more than a sock full of trinkets.
Sunglasses – Men love eyewear. With movies like Terminator making eyewear seem a necessary accessory for any macho man, you are sure to please with a pair of updated Ray Ban Aviators or Police brand modern sex appeal frames.
Belts – Men always need new belts. This is just a fact of life. They go through them on a yearly basis, not to mention, the belt needs to match their shoes and wallet in order to really have that pulled together look. This brings me to idea #3.
Wallets – As stated, they should match the shoes and belt or else act as a real conversation starter. Usually leather is the best way to go, in brown or black so his chances of matching it to an outfit are greater. This season, however, plaid is in for men, so that opens a whole new door for your man’s wardrobe.
Gift cards – If you cannot decide on which of the above fashion accessories to dress up your man with, get him a gift card to do his own shopping- heavily supervised of course. Gift cards for shopping for sunglasses online are available, or you can help him decide by picking out your frames online at a store like www.smartbuyglasses.com and then purchasing them for him, which is a sweet thing to do.

Taking Cold Weather Seriously
Filed Under Eyewear Knowledge | Leave a Comment
Every year thousands of people die in America from hypothermia related to a lack of respect for the weather, nature, or simply poor planning when going outdoors. Here is how to take cold weather seriously to avoid joining this statistic.
First, protect your skin and eyes. Remember that most of your body heat leaves the body from your head, making a hat one of your most important accessories.Second, people lost in the wild suffer from extreme damage and sometimes blindness because winter is the worst season for your eyes. Dry weather combined with reflected light from snow or ice causes your eyes to burn (like an ant under a magnifying glass) and because it is dry, your eye can feel itchy when really it is burning slowly in your socket. You can protect against this by wearing sunglasses outdoors in winter, models by Oakley and Nike are especially effective in extreme cold, though most sunglasses can withstand extreme temperature changes. Finally, most sufferers of frostbite lose their fingers and toes, making gloves and serious socks and boots an outdoor must.
When going outdoors, here is a basic list of what you’ll need and why in order to escape hypothermia, vision loss or bodily damage by frostbite. You will need a hat to keep in body warmth, sunglasses to protect your eyes, and chap stick for your lips and lotion for your face (before going out so it doesn’t freeze to your face). A scarf will protect your throat and upper chest, keeping your lungs warmer to offset your inner body temperature dropping. A warm jacket and pants will also protect your insides while extremely warm gloves and socks are essential to avoiding frostbite.
Respect cold weather, plan ahead and enjoy the winter wonderland this season!

Four Ways to Stay Fashion Focused
Filed Under Eyewear Knowledge, Designer Sunglasses | Leave a Comment
For the fashion fanatic, staying focused is easy, but this isn’t always the case for us weekend fashion warriors who hunt for Prada sunglasses on sale. Here are a few tips on staying focused and informed.
Follow Hollywood’s biggest events. While magazines like US Weekly cover the best and worst of each event, they are missing the point. Real fashion focused folks know that the real analysis is on finding trends in what the bulk of Hollywood’s elite are wearing. Don’t rely on magazines that offer more analysis than imagery, you want to make these choices for yourself!
Subscribe to fashion blogs. Fashion blogs that cover specific items of clothing are the best for really staying on top of fashion trends. This eyewear blog is one of the top in terms of identifying and analyzing eyewear trends. Find similar blogs for other accessories and subscribe to them all.
Stalk the shops. Everyone knows when a trend has died, keep an eye out at popular shops with huge revenue behind them like Old Navy and Abercrombie & Fitch. When they start putting all of a similar item on sale you can bet that the item won’t be returning next season.
Follow the big four. While many people have their own favorite stars to follow, a few fashionable celebs with designer street credit are Johnny Depp, Sara Jessica Parker, Beyonce and Kanye West. Follow the fashion trends on these four and you have tapped into Hollywood’s pulse.
Follow this advice and soon, young grasshopper, you’ll be on the road to being your own fashion critic.

How to match your makeup to your eyewear
Filed Under Eyewear Knowledge, Designer Sunglasses | Leave a Comment
Women around the world are always looking for ways to make their eyes stand out as much as possible. Here are three tips on how to match your eye makeup to your designer eyewear by designers like Dior, Prada and Versace.
Tip one – Always do the opposite. Despite what logic implies, going the opposite color and texture of your eyewear is a great way to make your eyes stand out and look bolder and bigger than before. For example, with black, thick frames you should highlight your eyelid in silver or white eye shadow and play up the lashes in a blue or purple tint. With lighter eyewear, you should do the inverse with dark eye shadow and dark lashes.
Tip two – don’t obstruct your natural beauty. Many women follow fashion trends despite the fact that not all of them are going to apply to their face or body shape. If you have oblong eyes, you need oblong glasses. Work with what you have, shape and size wise, and complement your natural curves.
Tip three – Frame your eyes. Many women spend immense amounts of time on the eye and completely neglect the eyebrow. Think about the natural curve and shape of your eye and patiently groom your eyebrow to follow and thus enhance your natural curves. Many women cut the eyebrow short, remember they should go past the outer limits of your eye! With your glasses, ensure your eyebrows are not hidden by your frames, which can result in a vampire or adolescent look.

Adam Lambert took the runner-up position in last season’s American Idol finals. His sense of old-world, Ray-Ban rocker style combined with Broadway theatrics and Kiss-like clothing made Adam one of the most exciting contestants ever to grace the show.
Adam’s sense of style can only be defined as unique in the music industry. He recently appeared in an all black suit with charcoal highlights and Mykita sunglasses (similar to Dior’s Aviators for men) in plated gold. While the look fell short of stunning, it gave him the Elvis-like edge that so defines his look.
These Mykita sunglasses fit Adam’s face and look, but we don’t really recommend these to anyone else. Instead, try to find your own unique look by thinking about what it is you have to offer than is different from the norm. Adam offered showmanship, theatrics, rock & roll and a voice that doesn’t stop. His competitor, Chris Allen, offered a generic boy-next-door wholesomeness that sells to middle America.
What is it that makes you special? If you are into a specific sport or type of music, focus your wardrobe around that. For example, any oldies fan knows that while the poodle skirt is cool, it probably wont fly to wear it to church every Sunday. Instead, think subtle and get poka-dots, stripes or bolder colors with frillier shapes. If you are into sports, don’t run around in jerseys every day of the week, instead, think smaller and get styles that a coach would wear, like polo shirts, pull-over jackets and lots of denim. Everyone can have a look specific to them that amplifies their interests.

Is it Safe to Buy Contact Lenses Online?
Filed Under Eyewear Knowledge, Uncategorized | Leave a Comment
Acucuve contacts are, without a doubt, some of the best in the contact industry, and are available online. With contact lenses on sale across the internet, many are wonder if it is safe to buy contacts online. Here is the basic lowdown on that question, and how to buy safely online.
If you are buying from a reputable distributor that focuses on designer and high-end eyewear, sunglasses and contacts than you can rest assured that the company is only buying and selling high-quality contact lenses. Likewise, this company will have a reputation to live up to, and social and financial responsibilities for their merchandise. A company that focuses entirely on contact lenses is a smart choice, but it is hard to gage the company’s overall performance without being able to see how they perform in the sunglasses and eyeglasses arenas as well. Therefore, it is wise to look at a company that focuses on eyewear in general rather than specifically on contacts, or on all fashion accessories.
When buying contacts online keep in mind that you will need your prescription handy. You should have your eyes checked and your prescription updated before even starting your online search for contacts. There are many affordable ways to get your eyes checked in the US. Many in-store optometrists give low cost eye exams hoping to make their money on selling overpriced frames or lenses. You can get the eye exam and then buy online to save big bucks.
Finally, when buying contacts online, make sure you fully understand what will be delivered with your contacts. You will need a case for carrying your left and right contacts separately and contact solution. You will also need to understand if you are ordering reusable or throw-away contacts, and read the instructions carefully on how long to wear each set before disposing of them. Any eyewear distributor should be able to provide information on basic eyewear hygiene as well as be able to answer any questions you have about their products.

For the youth of today, fashion is more important than athletic skill or intellectual prowess. Fashion makes a kid’s identity either cool or un-cool, important titles for children who are developing their personality and finding their way in the world. Disagree as you might, your child’s image now is as important as his or her image when job hunting years from now as an adult.
So, how can you help set your child up to be “cool” without being obvious or over-protective? Here are a few ideas:
Designer eyewear – While this may seem a bit over the top for a child, wearing glasses can be very difficult for a child because it is an easy target other children will use to mock the child. While spending a bundle on glasses seems silly to any parent who knows children’s eyewear prescriptions might change yearly, think of the glasses as an investment in your child’s health and in his or her popularity. You can always keep the frames when upgrading the lenses down the road.
Designer shoes- Believe it or not, shoes are as important in your youth as they are as an adult. Comfort is important, but style also matters. When Air Jordans came out in the 1990s, it was all important everyone have a pair to fit in. Gym class was hell until I acquired the much coveted Air Jordans.
Classy hair – Your child’s haircut is more important than just keeping the hair out of their eyes. Take a quick look at a few kid’s TV shows before you take your child to the barber. What is Hannah Montana doing these days? How about flipping through Niklalodean to see what the kids have as their styles. There is no need to copy directly, but if no one else has a bowel cut, perhaps consider your child’s ego if you were to cut his or her hair in such an outdated fashion.
Parenting is an art, hopefully these few tips help make your child’s life a bit easier at school this season.

Winter’s Best Eyewear
Filed Under Eyewear Knowledge, Designer Sunglasses, Designer Eyeglasses | Leave a Comment
With the winter season soon approaching, it is time to start thinking about winter fashion, and practical cold-weather needs. While many leave their Oakleys behind in the winter cool, this season remember that cold weather does not mean less dangerous rays!
For winter casual eyewear, we recommend Ray Ban Aviators, which are lightweight and cover a broad area of the face. Larger eyewear is usually in style in the winter, and Ray Bans are a sure way to stay fashionable while protecting your eyes from the winter sun.
For women who want to stay fashionable this winter, remember that fashion is important, but comfort reigns supreme! Plastic frames are naturally better for winter because they do not retain the cold the way metal frames do. Similarly, metal frames are more fragile in the cold than plastic, and the hinges may become stiff as a result. You’ll want to buy lightweight plastic frames for the winter, designs by Prada and Gucci generally do the trick nicely.
For biking or other outdoor activities, Oakley and Nike continue to make some of the best product available for casual sporting and weekend warriors as well as full-fledged professionals. You won’t be disappointed with Oakley’s much-strutted Jawbone model, which Lance Armstrong found fit to endorse for bikers everywhere.
For more serious winter sporting like skiing, snowboarding and other snowy activities, Oakley and Nike make goggles that are anti-fogging, anti-streaking, anti-scratch and water resistant. You’ll love the difference going designer with goggles makes to your athletic performance. Every skier knows fogged up goggles is worse than skiing in a snow storm.

Cosmetic Contacts of 2010
Filed Under Eyewear Knowledge | 1 Comment
Cosmetic or decorative contact lenses are useful when dressing up for a night out, or simply to enhance your natural eye color. Many men and women in America use them to boost their own natural hues and to up the wow factor on their look. While cosmetic contacts can also be corrective, they are most commonly used in the USA for their looks.
There have been rumors in the USA that cosmetic contacts cause eye damage. While people initially report blurring or mild vision obstruction with cosmetic lenses, when worn over time the uncomfortably subsides and the Food and Drug Administration has ruled that there is no long-term damage caused by cosmetic lenses.
One of the best trends in cosmetic eyewear is the cat eye lens, a yellow lens with a black eye in the center similar to a cat’s. The look is popular around Halloween, but is also a sexy way to up any party outfit or to look fetching on a rave night out. One of the second most popular looks is purple contact lenses on dark skinned women, which has a shockingly bright appearance that is beyond beautiful.
Green is the most common contact lens color, with thousands of people buying green lenses a day. Psychologists report that green is not only the most sexually appealing color, but the least common on the planet. More men report a fetish for green eyed women than any other eye color. Meanwhile, connotations with the color green run deep in men’s psyche and has an almost aphrodisiac effect on men.
