Alright men, you don’t have to copy Brad Pitt to be fashionable, you can strike out on your own and forge your own path. Still, sex appeal and fashion go hand in hand, and to have either you need to commit some time and energy to your wardrobe. Don’t just copy the hot Police Sunglasses fad that is sweeping the USA, find a brand and design that works for you and your unique look.
One of the best tips for men’s fashion is to avoid clichés. For example, the man in the picture here is a bundle of clichés. He is trying too hard, his collar is outside his jacket, his belt is huge and obnoxious and his sunglasses don’t fit the look. Essentially, he is trying extremely hard to look confident and wealthy and thus signaling to women than he is neither. If he were wearing a smaller collar, less obnoxious belt and possibly less loud sunglasses he’d be a real catch and any woman’s eye would linger.
Instead of mimicking a look, try making your own! If you love sports, don’t just buy jerseys and Oakley sunglasses, consider a wardrobe that is halfway between the sexiness of the pro’s off-hour outfits and spectator game ware. You can wear Dockers slacks, Serengeti shades, a polo shirt and then accessories with your sports paraphernalia, like Dodgers wallet or a Green Bay cap. You still look classy and sexy, and yet you’re not bashing people in the eyes with your sports affiliations. Women love a man who is passionate, but not a crazy one.

Tips from Fashion Experts
Filed Under Celebrity Watch, Designer Sunglasses | View Comments
Not all of us can afford to keep fashion consultants on hand for when we’re having a so-so day. Putting together a comprehensive look that exudes our personality and key traits is a job for a pro. But without hiring one, how can you get that same cohesive look? We’ve rounded up the best advice from fashion experts across the web, with everything from Dior do’s and Dunhill don’ts and everything in between.
Tip #1: Always accessorize. When you look at the big stars it isn’t their clothing that stands out (unless you’re looking at Lady Gaga or Madonna). It’s the accessories they use to set themselves in a superior fashion category. Launch yourself into that group with designer sunglasses, earrings that are subtle and timeless, and simple accessories like a designer wrist watch, shoes and handbag.
Tip #2: Never over match. Celebrities and the big shots look haphazard and yet wonderful. They do this by avoiding looking overly matched up. Don’t wear too many items of the same color or overly relying on two colors. Like the guy in the image here who is obviously trying too hard. Tsk Tsk.
Tip #3: Avoid clichés. If you see a ton of people wearing a certain look it’s probably a wee bit cliché. For example, slicked back hair or a certain fad with the way jeans are worn. Avoid all that and keep to your own tune, that’s what truly fashionable people do-they bypass fads and create their own trends.

Hot Yoga Fashion
Filed Under Brand Wave, Designer Sunglasses | View Comments
Yoga is in vogue, and not just the benefits you get from the sport, like leaner muscles, toned limbs, flexibility and serenity, but the clothing, the social status of the activity and the social aspect. Yoga is blowing up, and with it is yoga fashion. Even mega stores like Wal-Mart and Target have yoga gear for sale, something you wouldn’t have seen ten years ago. But are the designer brands like Prada and Versace keeping up?
But so far yoga is a high-end thing. Is middle class and above in the Western world, and the exact opposite in the East. So, are the hottest designer brands making garb and accessories for the new hot sport? So far, the answer is no. But that doesn’t mean you can’t adapt sexy fashion for your bendy athleticism.
Dior sunglasses would look stunning on this yoga practitioner (image left). Especially on her way to and from the studio or for days when she conducts her yoga outdoors. Sunglasses shield your eyes from the sun’s harmful rays and are wise to have on at all times when outside, plus nothing can kill your concentration like a sudden refraction of light into your eye. For added difficulty, some extreme yoga practitioners even do blind yoga, which you could start on with dark sunglasses.
Regardless of your style while you practice yoga, be sure to be safe. Always work with a licensed instructor, always protect your body from the environment, whether an indoor or outdoor one, and never work beyond your limits.

Funny Fashion Mishaps
Filed Under Brand Wave, Celebrity Watch, Designer Sunglasses | View Comments
There are a lot of famous fashion mishaps, and some really strange fashion decisions, too. Like Bjork’s decision to wear a dead bird around her neck, or J-Lo’s choice to wear a sheer green jungle dress to the Oscars, or even the infamous nipple slip that has forever ruined half time shows. But what about fashion blunders with high-end designer brands like Gucci and Prada?
Yes, designers make mistakes too! Just look at any random runway during Paris, Milan or New York fashion week. You’ll find a barrage of thin women in clothing that isn’t flattering and wouldn’t look good on a even a perfect body. What’s the deal?
High fashion is concept art. Essentially, designers capture an idea with each line of clothing and then take it to extremes to test the boundaries of public awareness. Take, for example, the ridiculous sunglasses on the runway by Fendi last year. They were outlandishly bright, cubic, multi-tones and had gradient tinting in reverse. In short they were simply ridiculous. Still, Fendi gets points for thinking outside the box during fashion week, and for demonstrating what not to do.
Just like Vanilla Ice’s yellow parachute pants, every step in the wrong direction we go with fashion serves to guide is more in the right direction be contrast. This is useful especially in high fashion where boundaries don’t mean anything and designers are willing to send a model down the runway in literally anything. Still, these fashion mishaps are acceptable in the long run, and we can all rest assured that no “real” folks in “real” cities would ever be caught dead in fashion week clothing.

Patterned Sunglasses
Filed Under Designer Sunglasses | View Comments
This season, patterns and plaids will be all the rage. And what better way to flush up your wardrobe than with more color and flare from your Ray Ban Wayfarers, a great way to spice up any otherwise dull look.
But not all patterns are created equally, some color schemes and patterns are purely ostentatious. The ideal fashionable move is to find a pattern and color scheme that works with your wardrobe without being over-the-top. A sudden barrage of newness and color can make others notice your fashion change, which is good except that too much in the wild department is a signal of insanity.
Flannel patterns are especially popular this season because they are a segway into more color and flare. Burberry style patterns are especially hot right now. Tans, reds, blacks and browns are not offensive colors, but in pattern print on your face they look ore wild, more youthful and more fun.
Floral patterns are also hot this season, but be careful of overly wild colors. When you’re wearing a pattern on your face you don’t need to be as flashy with coloring. Even soft greens with beautiful pastel pinks and blues are wild enough for a dash of fashionable flare.
Where Wayfarers used to be bold because of the bright, primary colors, now they are bold because of the patterns and subtle colors. Still, you can easily match less wild colors with your existing wardrobe and skin and hair coloring than the wild bright colors of the original Wayfarers.

Patriotic Fashion
Filed Under Designer Sunglasses | View Comments
Americans have long been a patriotic people, and they like to express these from time to time through fashion. In the 90’s blue fabric with white stars was a rage pattern used for everything from clothing to shoes to even cars. It was everywhere. Today, it is no less subtle but instead of the full-body overdose of star bangles awesomeness we get doses here and there in retro, throw-back ways. One of the coolest ways to make your red, white and blue look cool instead of cliché is to pair it with traditional Ray Ban Wayfarer or Aviator sunglasses. Like the lovely ladies in the image here, the sunglasses make their looks cool and not crazy.
But red, white and blue isn’t an easy look to pull off once you throw in strips, stars and such drastically opposing primary colors. The name of the game in the 21st century is to look like you aren’t trying. Of the three women above only the woman on the right looks like she owned that shirt before the 4th of July and would have worn it on a normal day out. The other two looks are a bit too contrived, but still cool for the holidays.
One final tip is to go over the top with high-end fashion whenever you attempt to pull in a retro look like a flag or any bold opposing primary colors.

Annoying Eyewear Fads
Filed Under Brand Wave, Celebrity Watch, Designer Sunglasses | View Comments
Sometimes a fad will pop up that simply shouldn’t survive. Recently, many of these fads have been in the eyewear industry, prompting many to wonder if the giants like Prada, Gucci and Dior have simply lost their minds, or if they are pandering to an unruly, unfashionable mob.
The recent surge in white sunglasses is not only annoying, but ill timed. Wearing white in winter only makes you look washed out and older than your age. Perhaps this is why the fad is strongest among pre-teens. We recently spotted Justin Bibier in white shades that made him look like a poser. This may well be a fair assessment, but we would have thought the Biebs’ fashion team wouldn’t have let him leave the house in strap-on sandals and white Oakley shades.
However, the single most annoying new trend, especially hot in Asia at the moment, is the seemingly fashionable concept of wearing ugly, black-framed eyeglasses with no lenses. For most of us who are forced to wear corrective lenses to see, this is just insulting. We know being the chic nerd is in, but fake glasses don’t make you look smart, they make you look dumb. Enough said. In Asia, part of the fad comes from the strong affinity for anime, where the characters have larger-than-life eyes. The large frames add this effect ever so subtly. This also has the advantage of making your chin and lips seem smaller, the ideal anime appearance. But, if you don’t think looking like a hyper sexual Japanese cartoon is ideal, drop the fake glasses and move on.

Fashionable Frames for Spring
Filed Under Brand Wave, Designer Sunglasses | View Comments
Although winter is currently hitting, and hitting hard, it’s time to start thinking about spring fashion. Those who plan ahead, after all, end up with the cutest stuff at cut-rate prices and are the first to roll out their fresh spring look. So, instead of waiting to see what’s hot, why not start the trends! We’re here to give you pointed advice on what those in the know expect to be hot. Tom Ford sunglasses are always a spring-time favorite and a sure bet. You can also go colorful and bold with the brighter colors of Ray Ban Wayfarers or Versace’s intricate and frilly designs. Depending on your spring wardrobe, any of these will be sure to get you some positive looks when the snow thaws.
But spring fashion isn’t as easy as many think. It isn’t all flip-slips, florals and brighter hues. To really be fashionable you have to seamlessly blend your winter wardrobe into your spring one to make the transition a beautiful and seemingly effortless one. Here’s how:
As the last thrashes of winter start to die, start wearing bolder, brighter scarves with brighter tops under your jacket. Your hair can be freshly dyed, your lipstick can get brighter and your blush more dominant. Shoes can turn from boots to slip-on’s and then segway into flip-slops.
Seamless transitions are part of a true fashionable person’s talents. And making it a smooth one isn’t as easy as it may seem. Still, without the transition it will seem as if you jumped from a winter catalog directly into a spring one without any real thought to the middle ground.

It’s not often we get to associate Lindsey Logan with smart choices, but this last year she took her fashion sense from Disney hooker senseless to pretty amazing. She looks dashing in these Chanel sunglasses, the perfect look for her skin, hair and body composition. She may have been in and out of jail, in and out of rehab more times than Amy Winehouse, and in and out of relationships, but Lindsey stayed firmly fashionable in 2011, an impressive feat for a girl with so many distractions.
Another epic fashion win was performed by Kate Middleton, the pending Queen of England. Her wedding gown was absolutely gorgeous and she looked as stunning in regal in that as any queen should. But what’s more impressive is the way she uses affordable fashion she buys off the street and combines these looks with high-end gear. She’s beautiful in a way that allows this kind of layering, but it also gives her a edge of relating to the population that most don’t have with royalty. She’s one of the top epic wins of the year.
Michelle Obama is also near the top of the fashion pile thanks to her similarly high and low-brow fashion looks. She was spotted shopping at Target in store-brand clothing and a baseball cap a few days after an official function at the white house where she was clad head-to-toe in designer digs. Any woman who can live in both worlds gets props from us, and her addiction to trying new looks that are slightly more edgy than previous first ladies is applauded.

Going Green in 2012
Filed Under Designer Sunglasses | View Comments
The Aztecs predicted the would end in 2012, but just in case it doesn’t here are some tips to helping make a greener tomorrow for the next generation. First, buy recycled items, you’d be surprised how many high-end items like designer Versace sunglasses or retro Ray Ban Wayfarers you’ll find at your local thrift shop. Instead of buying new, you can check out the toss away treasures in your neighborhood.
If you do decide to buy new, keep in mind that buying online limits the gas you spend and the energy going to the store, and if you buy designer you’re saving the world because you’re not filling landfills with cheap, broken sunglasses, you’re just buying a designer pair once.
Other ways to go green include limiting the amount of waste in your home or apartment. Recycled papers like toilet paper, paper towels and notebook paper go a long way in making the world more green, and you’ll find energy-saving light bulbs and insulation will lower your own electric bills while also lowering the electricity the whole nation uses.
Going green can be fun, too. Planting trees in your neighborhood or growing your own garden are great ways to interact with nature in a non passive way. You’ll get your hands dirty and your lungs clean. And doing your part to add, rather than subtract green from your life you’ll feel the tinge of happiness that comes from doing something good.
Remember to recycle, car-pool when possible and always walk or ride your bike to shops that are within a few miles. Not only will you get more community, more exercise and a more active life, but you’ll be helping the world around you.
